Were heated seats available in the early 240s (1980 and earlier)? They apparently were available in the 262 coupes as I found a picture for the passenger heated seat switch here: http://www.240.se/brytare/
Does anyone have a picture for the driver's seat switch or know what it says on the switch?

Thanks!

I think that the driver's seat was on all the time, temp sensitive, I had 2 262C parts cars and did not find a driver seat switch. I have a switch for the passenger seat.

There isn't a rocker switch on the 262C for the driver's seat heat. The switch is a pressure switch as PCH referenced. Weight in the seat turns the heat on if the thermostat says it is cold enough to turn on. Passenger seat has the rocker switch.

Not sure if they changed it in 81. I'm assuming in 81 they had the new style switches with just the pictogram.

Heated seats were initially offered in the 1974-75 164s, one of the first cars to include that as a feature. If you look through this 1976 brochure, you will see automatic drivers heated seat listed as standard for the 264 GL.
